Joanie is a very special dachshund that was found starving on the side of the road in Texas. You can read her story here. This story is both sad and uplifting at the same time. It is a true testament to the will to survive, not to mention the stubborness of a dachshund ;o) Please be advised, some of the photos of Joanie are hard to look at but she really needs our prayers and support.
Joanie, we are behind you all the way! We know you will be able to overcome this!
I first found out about Joanie at The Long and Short of it All: A Dachshund Dog News Magazine. They do a great job of gathering all the doxie related news out there. Click here to jump over and visit them.

Hi Twix,

OMD! That poor little doggy. I can't believe she is able to stand up on her own. What a strong willed little girl she is. I hope Joanie continues to get better and that she finds a terrific furever home.

Gosh...what a brave little girl Joanie is. We sent her a donation and we hope it will help her get better really soon. I don't mind giving up my measly pathetic little allowance to help a pup in need. Hoping for a raise from my mom soon so I can help even more (hint hint??). Yorkies are very charitable, you know.

Love, Mary-Margaret
