My Long Weekend & Look What I Got!

Because of our Thanksgiving holiday, Mom had a 4 day weekend and we got to spend some time together. You know how I love that. Daddy had to work on Friday so we didn't get any extra time together. :o(

Mom and Dad went to Uncle David and Aunt Shannon's house for Thanksgiving on Thursday. I was not too happy because I didn't get to go. We usually celebrate at Grandma and Grandpa's house but not this year. I was pouting a bit because I didn't get to go so Mom had to sit me down and have a nose to nose talk with me.
I know some of you are wondering how come I didn't get to go, aren't you?
Well, it is because of this guy.
That is Griffin. I have been around him before but never at his house and he is a bit protective of his territory......so, they decided I should probably stay home and remain safe.
What I couldn't believe was that my Daddy was getting up close and personal with him.
And then he was also petting Gretchen. What is up with that?
I thought I was his top dog!
Ok, Daddy, you just go to work on Friday and I will stay here with Mom. At least she doesn't bring home photos of her loving on other dogs.

After Dad left Friday and went to work for his punishment, Mom left the front door open so I could catch some rays. I haven't been able to tan my tummy for a while so this was quite a treat....especially for November!
Then she decided it was time for an up close and personal photo shoot.
I'm trying to rest here, Mom.
Sigh....
Are you done yet?
No?
Well, too bad because I'm done!
But I do have my paws crossed for Rocky's Mom.
Nothing much happened on Saturday and Sunday.
Thank doG I didn't have to endure another photo shoot!

Would you take a look at these totally Twixerific images my feline furiends over at Zoolatry sent me?
Aren't they fantastic? I was so excited when I saw them.
You girls are wonderful!
Thank you so very much!

A Lot To Be Thankful For

I hope everyone has been able to enjoy some time with their family and friends today. When I did my post about my adoption story, it got me to thinking about all the things I have to be thankful for.....

I'm most thankful for treats!
I'm thankful for the ability to play with my toys, whenever I decide to.
I'm thankful for my Grandma who loves me very much.
I'm thankful for all the silly photos Mom takes of me (sorta).
I'm thankful for clothes to keep me warm since I don't have much fur. (No offense to my feline furiends!)
I'm thankful for blankets left on the couch for me to cuddle up and take a nap in.
I'm thankful for the sunshine that comes through the windows even when it is cold outside.
I'm thankful for living long enough to have all these gray hairs in my beard.
I'm thankful Scooter found a home of his own.
I'm thankful for the ability to go on walks even when I have to wait for the person walking me.
I'm thankful for being able to relax in the sun.
I'm thankful that I get to sleep in the big bed.
I'm thankful for my daddy because he loves me very much.
I'm thankful for my momma because she loves me very much.
I'm thankful that my momma and daddy love each other very much and I get to be a part of their family.
And I'm very thankful for all my blogging furiends who love and support me no matter how silly I am!
Note from Mom: Twix may have given TMI about her grandma but she is very concerned about her. Grandma is doing better than she was a week or so ago. Apparently, this is a possible complication for having major abdominal surgery. The doctors say her bowels will start working eventually but until then, she is unable to keep much food down because it doesn't have anywhere to go. I know Twix has told you thanks for your support and prayers but I want you guys to know it means a lot to us to know you are there.
Thank You!

My Thankful Adoption Story

My furiend Frankie has asked us to tell our adoption stories today for Thanksgiving. I don't have much of an adoption story because my Momma got me when I was 5 1/2 weeks old.
She had another doxie, Max, and he passed away in February 1999 after living a wonderful 17 years.
Momma (she didn't know Daddy yet) wasn't ready to get another dog right away. One day one of her coworkers said her neighbor's dogs just had puppies....and they were doxies! Momma agreed to go and look at them. I was 3 weeks old at that time. There were about 6 puppies there and Mom played with them all and loved on all them. She picked me up and I fell asleep in the palm of her hand....belly up. She liked my coloring too. I was chocolate and tan. So, she told the lady she wanted to get me.
Mom was planning to get me several weeks later because she was in the middle of moving. The lady called Mom the first week of August (I was born June 20) and said she needed to come and pick me up. Mom said she thought I was too young to be away from my birth mother but the lady said all the other puppies were already gone and she had someone else interested in me if she didn't come to get me.
So, I moved in with Mom and all her boxes. I was certainly too young to be away from my first home but Momma put me in bed with her that night and that made me feel more comfy. Matter of fact, I was so comfy I woke Momma up in the middle of the night pushing on her tummy.....looking for something to eat.
I am not a registered dog and was relatively inexpensive but yes, I came from a backyard breeder. Mom and Dad don't care where I came from they love me no matter what and that is what I am most thankful for today!

As most of you know, my Grandma has been sick after having her surgery 3 weeks ago. Well, she went back to the hospital on Tuesday. Her bowels are not waking up after her surgery. She said this time the doctors won't let her go home until she poops. I told her I poop a few times a day and since Mom or Dad always picks up my poo we could give her some. She said that won't work and then laughed at me. I tried!
About this picking up our poo....why do parents do that? It doesn't make me to happy. I spend a lot of time making sure I find the right spot to leave that and work hard to make sure it is perfect. Then they come along and pick it up and put it in the trash! My parents are totally crazy!
Sorry, lost my train of thought there for a moment. I know you are but please continue to keep my Grandma in your thoughts and prayers. We REALLY appreciate it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
happy thanksgiving Pictures, Images and Photos

Requests

Hi all! Yes, you read the post title correctly.
I have some requests for you.
First of all, will you please keep my grandma in your thoughts and prayers? Even though she is home from the hospital (finally) she still has a lot of healing to do. She was very sick after her surgery and her body has not been able to heal itself very well. She was unable to eat for over 2 weeks and is still very weak.

Secondly, us ladies are up for post of the month at DWB....
That's right! Our Ladies Night post is in the running for
Post of the Month.
And, we are not winning! Unbelievable, I know!
Please go to The Bone Zone and vote here. (You do need to be a registered user and it is easy to register as members of DWB)
Don't forget to send your furiends too!

That is all the requests I have for you but thought you might need to see something cute today.....
Have a great week!

Bad News & Good News

Bad news first....
Mom and I have been neglecting you guys lately...it has been over a week since we last posted. We are really sorry. Mom has been working extra hours and is pretty tired when she gets home. Plus we have both been pretty stressed about Grandma. Even worse news than that is the fact that our Reader has over 500 posts for us to try and catch up on....I'm pretty sure we won't be commenting on all of them!
Will you forgive us?
Please?
We really are sorry we've been neglecting you!
Maybe you will find it in your heart to forgive us.....we hope!
~~~~
Now on to the good news!
My Grandma came home from the hospital today!!!!!!
I didn't get to see her today so this photo is from when she was home for one day last week.
It has been over 2 weeks since her surgery. I know when I had to stay at the doggie hospital it was for less than a week and it seemed like forever. I can't imagine what 2 weeks seems like to Grandma.
Momma will be staying with her tomorrow while Grandpa goes to church but I am not sure if I will get to go or not. It will depend on how she feels in the morning. We are so happy to have her home!
Do you guys like my new hoodie? This is what I got in exchange for the 'hoochie sweater'. I like it much better and it is considerably warmer.
Now, for some more good news!
I got a package in the mail the day I had my teeth cleaned. I didn't get to open it for a few days because my teeth were sore but when I was ready to open it I let Mom and Dad know.
Hmmm....what is that smell?
It smells even better in here.
Its a package from my great furiends, Bijou and Banjo!
Look at this Twixerific card they made me.
I'm not waiting any longer....lets get this show on the road.
Mmmm, treats!
These treats are made at a bakery near where they live.
Oh! Come on! Can't I have one yet?
I got three different kinds and I can not keep my nose out of the Peanut Butter Puppy Kisses.
Finally! These are some tasty treats!
Thanks so much, Bijou and Banjo!
I LOVE these treats!
Mom lets me have one each night after she gets home from work....and if she forgets, I remind her!
I'm so lucky to have such wonderful furiends! Thanks for everyone's support and prayers while my Grandma has been sick.
