I was so worried he forgot me.....

I thought Santa Paws forgot all about me!
First of all, I spent Christmas Eve home alone while Momma and Daddy went to David and Shannon's house for Christmas dinner.  When there are lots of people around I get nervous and I still find it necessary to leave my scent even though I am no longer a breeding dog....so I spent Christmas Eve all alone.  It appears that everyone else had a great time looking at the photos on Mom's camera.
Warning:  This is a picture heavy post cuz Mom said I have to share my blog with the other family members at Christmas.

First, Aunt Shannon read the Christmas story from the Bible.

Then, Elizabeth read the Christmas story from her Bible.

Next came present opening time.
Elizabeth was first.
 Helloooooo.....anything else in there???

Then, Kayla got a box of Dentastix????
Did Santa Paws give her my gift?

Nope!  She got a One Direction throw to snuggle up in.
Elizabeth said, "I'm cold too".
Hmmm....wonder what happened to the Dentastix?

Do you think Santa Paws gave them to Griffin?

Grandma and Daddy sat in the love seat together.

Grandpa and David relaxed in the recliner couch.

Then they decided to really relax.
I heard that there was some "genetic" snoring going on.

While everyone else was having fun, what was I doing?
Waiting patiently for Santa Paws.......

I never heard anyone in the house but I had gifts in my stockings Christmas morning.

The first thing I found were sweet potato slices.
I LOVE these!
Hurry up, Daddy!  I can't wait to taste one!

After Daddy got the package open, he let me reach in and grab one.....

I came out with about 5 of them but Daddy said I was being greedy and I could only have one.

I wonder what else is in here?

A bag of chew bones!

I also got a new purple collar.
What do ya think?

I was feeling so cute in my new collar that my ears stood out!

Then we took gifts over to the grand kids house.
Layla got a new Littlest Pet Shop play house.

Lavon got some Monster trucks.

I was worn out by then and found a place to relax out of the commotion.

I'm so glad Santa Paws didn't forget me!
I did see several packs of Dentastix in my snack cabinet too!

I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit but I can't wait to visit you all and see what Santa Paws left you.

Twix's Flashback Friday: My Christmas Part 1

I love the memories this post brings back.  I have never been as excited about a gift as I was for this one.  The gift Twix and I gave her Daddy was extra special and something that can never be replaced.  When I first thought about this gift, I talked to my mom about it.  I mentioned to her that it seemed a lot to spend.  She looked at me and said, "Teresa, you and Fonso will cherish this for the rest of your life".  I am so glad she said that to me.  I don't know that I could have went forward without her making me think outside the cost.  Thanks, Mom!  It is, by far, well worth every penny that was spent on it.

Today's Flashback was originally posted on January 1, 2010.

My Christmas Part 1

Our family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve every year. Everyone (except me) went over to David and Shannon's again. As you know I wasn't feeling too good and there is a beast dog at their house so I stayed home.  This is gonna be a long post because Momma took a butt-load of pictures.....and she has a BIG butt!

Here are some photos of Kayla opening ONE of her gifts!

At last! She finds something in here besides another box!

What? Another box! And a pizza box even! Maybe there is some pizza in there she can share with me.

I think all that work was worth it....
after all, she did get a pink Nintendo DS.

By the way, her Dad decided to torture her like that.
Here are some random photos taken Christmas Eve.

And another collage of some of the animals that got to attend. Yes, I know my Daddy is in these photos.

If you didn't go visit Cloud when I asked you to a couple weeks ago then you don't know what Mom and I got Daddy for Christmas. I hope you enjoy the surprise!
But before you get to see that, I wanted to tell you that Mom told Dad several times that he was gonna love his gift and she couldn't wait for him to open it. She told him this was the best gift she has ever given him.  Well, ever since Mom and Dad have known each other, he has wanted a Brett Farve GB jersey.  So, naturally, he thought that was going to be his gift.  Seriously!
And the box was even the right size for a jersey.

So, he opens the box and inside was something wrapped in bubble wrap.  The bubble wrap was removed and Dad was looking at the back of his gift
(we had the front covered to protect it).
He looks a bit confused here.

There we go! Big smile that we were waiting for but he isn't quite sure what he is holding

It sunk in pretty quick....he said, "Hey, this is Twix!"
Duh, Dad!

Here he is showing everyone the detail on my collar and fur.

Cloud's Mom does great work, doesn't she?

Here he is, just admiring my beauty.

Dad is showing Griffin his pride and joy....ME!
See, Griffin, bigger isn't always better.

I got my custom painted portrait hung in a place of honor.....right in the middle of Daddy's family picture wall.

Here is the scanned image of the painting.  It is much better than the flash photos Mom took.  And, let me tell you, it is sooooo much better in person.
I took this from Kathleen's blog and hope I am not violating any laws by posting it here. Please let me know if I am.
If you click on the link to her blog it will take you to the page that shows the progression of the painting if you would like to see it.

Kathleen did a wonderful job on my painting (of course she had such a good subject to work with!).  It is very apparent that she did this with love and the understanding of how important the bond is that I share with my humans.
Thank you so much, Kathleen.  God has given you a tremendous gift and we appreciate your willingness to share it with us.

Christmas Cookie Recipe Exchange: Graham Cracker Pralines

Thanks to my furiend, Daisy, and her mom
for coming up with this great blog hop!
http://dailydaisydog.blogspot.com/2013/12/bake-cookies-day-blog-hop.html

This is a recipe that came from my grandma and everyone who has ever tasted them thinks they are fantastic!
Of course, I have never gotten to taste them.

Graham Cracker Pralines
24 graham cracker squares
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans

Spread graham cracker squares on a cookie sheet.  It is ok if you need to break them to make them fit on the pan.

Place butter and brown sugar in a sauce pan, bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over graham crackers and spread evenly.
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.  They will be bubbly when you take them out of the oven.  Cool for a few minutes before removing from the cookie sheet.

Your end result should look something like this:

I know these seem ridiculously easy
but they are ridiculously yummy!
I've even heard that they are addictive!

ENJOY!!!

An Answer for Stanley

OMD!!
Did you guys see what Stanley did?

First of all, he sent me a big basket of biscuits.  One of which had a special message on it telling me to look at the sky at 9:00 last night.  I made sure to let Dad know that I needed to "take care of business" about 5 minutes before 9:00.  He was getting impatient, but I made sure to take some extra time so I would be outside at the correct time.
I loved the surprise Stanley had in store for me.

Stanley, I checked with my Daddy and he said that since you took the time and gave honest answers to his
"Dating My Daughter Application", I can go to Sarge's NYE pawty with you.  After such a romantic invitation, I can't wait to see what the pawty has in store.

Ok, all my girl furiends out there.....what should I wear?
How should I fix my hair?
Are you girls going to the pawty too?
Oh!  This is so exciting!!!

Have You Heard About This Yet?

I was so excited when I read about

You know, I have a not-so-secret crush on
everypup's favorite dood, Manley Stanley.
I am SO hoping he asks me to the pawty!!!

I've been crossing my front paws in anticipation.

And, I've been crossing my back paws too!

All this waiting is driving me crazy!

I don't know how much longer I can stand it!

Before losing it, I found something else to think about.
My furiend, Daisy the Scottie, is hosting a
on December 18th.

I'm planning on posting a family favorite recipe.
Are you joining in on the fun?

Twix's Flashback Friday: This and That

Today's flashback was originally posted on

I have found a new sleeping position and Mom and Dad think it is a bit odd. Let's see what you guys think....

Keep in mind that I was completely under the covers and sound asleep before Mom started taking my pictures.
Mom didn't take a photo of that but said you can certainly tell when I'm sleeping like this.

I don't see anything odd here, do you?
Can't a girl sleep anyway she wants without the stupid puperatzi waking her up? Sheesh!
Note from Mom: Twix has started sleeping in this (strange) position recently. I have a hard time imagining she is relaxed like that but she must be comfy because she out!
~~~~~~~~
I get excited over silly things and have been told I am easily amused but did you notice I have 100 followers? I'm very excited about that!
~~~~~~~~
Whats happening outside right now....

Whats happening inside right now....

Are you crazy?

You have lost your freakin' mind
if you think I'm going out in that!

Yes, I know it isn't a lot of snow and several of you like it but....
you try having legs a couple inches long and tinkling in that stuff. You might just change your mind!
I hope those of you that love snow enjoy the photos....now come get this nasty stuff!
Thats all of today's This and That. I hope you enjoyed it!
