Let's Do The Bunny (Basket) Hop!

My wonderful furiends over at Corgi Country have given me a wonderful basket full of Easter goodies. Ok, I know, dogs can't have chocolate but this isn't real chocolate....its virtual chocolate!
Reese's, Hershey, Easter Basket, Easter candy at Walmart, exclusive Hershey candy at Walmart
The wonderful people at Hershey's are donating $10 per blog post giving away this wonderful Easter basket. Who are they donating to you ask? Children's Miracle Network, thats who!
As you all know, the blogging world is full of givers and people (and their pets) who care. I copied the following directly off the Better Basket Blog Hop website:
Better Basket Blog Hop started as a charity blog meme, bloggers were able to raise $10 by writing a blog post of donating a virtual Easter Basket. The Hershey Company promised to donate $10 per each post written for the Children’s Miracle Network, up to $5,000. Within the first week, over 200 bloggers participated, and soon it was 400 bloggers, and The Hershey Company was so impressed by the kindness and caring of the hundreds of bloggers participating that they decided to donate $7,000 in honor of all the caring bloggers who are part of spreading the word of paying it forward this Easter season.
Way to go blogging world!
My furiends over at Corgi Country wanted to get this started in the dog blogging world and shared with 5 others. I know things travel fast between blogs and I bet chocolate will travel even faster. Since this ends on Easter Sunday, I would like to give this easter basket to 10 furiends so that they can pass it on to their furiends and help Hershey's raise more money for Children's Miracle Network.
All you have to do is follow these simple rules:
*Copy and paste these rules to your blog post.
*Create a blog post giving a virtual Easter Basket to another blogger – you can give as many Virtual Baskets as you want.
*Link back to person who gave you an Easter Basket.
*Let each person you are giving a Virtual Easter Basket know you have given them a Basket.
*Leave your link at BetterBasket.info/BlogHop comment section. You can also find the official rules of this #betterbasket blog hop, and more information about Better Basket with Hershey’s there.
*This started as a meme of Hershey donating $10 per each blog participating to the Better Basket Blog Hop to Children’s Miracle Network up to $5,000 – but after so many bloggers participating, Hershey decided to donate a total of $7,000 honoring the kindness of blogger community .
Easy, huh?
Don't forget, there is a big announcement coming later this week!

An Award Ceremony and a Celebration

Holy dog bones! Momma gets sick and we don't stay up to date on your posts and next thing we know there are over 400 of them for us to catch up on this weekend. We haven't made it to all of them yet but we are getting close.

On to the Award Ceremony....
I have received many awards in the last few weeks and due to time constraints, I will not be following any rules this time....sorry.
First up is this award received from The Feisty Three.
I'm supposed to list 10 things that make me happy...
ALL OF YOU!

I also received this award from The Feisty Three
Create your own banner at mybannermaker.com!
Apparently, they think I am feisty.....wonder what gave them that idea?
Thanks for being great furiends of mine!

I recently received this award from a new furiend, Tilly, and an established furiend, Cocorue.
(See how I didn't use the word old!)
Thanks to both of you for this beautiful award. You guys know how I love flowers!
I am supposed to pass this on to 12 other bloggers whose blog brings sunshine into my life. All of my furiend's blogs bring sunshine into my life so you all get it!

This next award comes from Riley & Star
They have given this to all their furiends to show their love and appreciation. Thanks! I love and appreciate both of you!

Mollie Jo & Bobo gave out this wonderful award to all their fans as a thank you for being blogging buddies.
They recently had their 1 year blogaversary. Congrats Mollie Jo & Bobo! I'm looking forward to another year of being your furiend.

I would encourage you to stop by any of the above bloggers if you don't know them. They are "Twixeriffic"!

Speaking of 1 year blogaversaries.....I will be celebrating mine next month. So, about 10 days prior to the actual date, I will be reposting some of my posts from the beginning. I thought that would be kinda fun since I have so many new followers. What do you guys think? And.....
I will be making a big announcement this week about another way I plan to celebrate with all my furiends!
(I love suspense!)
I'm off to do some spring time tummy tanning.....

Another Flower Friday

Hello and welcome to another edition of Flower Friday here at my blog! I hope all my furiends have had a great week.  I know I have. The weather has been pretty nice a couple days this week and I'm loving it! It did rain for a couple days too but I'm trying to block that from my mind.
Today's flower photo was actually taken in the past but I thought it was perfect for today.
There are a few daffodils getting ready to bloom near our house but they aren't quite there yet. I think spring has FINALLY arrived.....Hooray! If it snows again here at my house I think I will bite those TV weather persons! They don't usually have any idea what is going on any way. Maybe I will dream of biting them during nap time.........

As you can imagine, I am not so happy about this.
Here is a sampling of what it looks like outside today......
This picture was taken this morning:
These are some of Momma's crocus and tulips:
Our bush looks like a frosted donut again:
And Mom took this picture when the news was on and they said we are supposed to get 1-3 more inches of snow tonight.......all I can say is Cat Crap!
Khyra left a comment yesterday asking me to "enjoy" the snow for her. I don't think the Siberian Husky version of enjoying the snow matches the Dachshund version of enjoying the snow.
Khyra, here is a photo of me enjoying the snow the doxie way today......
And a bonus photo just for you, Khyra!

Momma isn't feeling too good and we are waaaaay behind on reading posts. She thinks one of the patients in her office gave her a nasty cold.....I told her she looked like Rudolph and wanted to put her picture on here for you to see but she wasn't too keen on that idea.
I'm sorry you are sick, Momma. Please get better soon so I can catch up with all my furiends!

Flower Friday

Welcome to another edition of Flower Friday!
I hope everydog and everycat is having a great day with lots of treats!
Today's flower photo was taken in Omaha, NE a couple of years ago.  We have no idea what kind of flower this is.  There is even a good chance that it might be a weed but Mom thought it was interesting and took it's picture.....go figure.
Wonderful weekend wishes to all!

Merry Christmas Momma!

I know, its kinda late for Christmas....or is it early?
Either way, some of you may remember that Mom got a pair of tickets to the Bon Jovi concert from Daddy for Christmas. The concert was Monday night and it sounds like she had a "Twixerrific" time at the concert.
Prior to the concert, she and her friend, Marla, went out for dinner in the Power and Light District in Kansas City. It is an extremely rare occasion for Mom to have a beer but she decided it was a special night and she would get one. She got some funny pear beer and I'm not real sure what Marla was drinking.....

Momma says you can't take that girl anywhere without her acting silly!  ;o)
They used to work together and had a great time catching up during dinner.
Note from Mom:  Marla, we should get together and catch up a little more often!
Marla's birthday is this weekend so they double celebrated.....Christmas and Marla's birthday.
Here are a couple of collages Mom put together of some of the pics she took at the concert.

For a guy that is as old as my Mom, he doesn't look to shabby, you know, from a dog's perspective.

You can see the individual photos here if you want.
And, even though it is against the rules (gasp!), she took some video with her camera. Unfortunately, the sound quality isn't very good when using a camera but you can get the idea.

There are a few other videos on my YouTube page if you are at all interested.
I've tried to tell Mom this is MY blog but she insisted we do this whole post about HER night at the concert. Please accept my apologies for her selfishness. I tried to tell her none of my blogging furiends cared even one bit of kibble about Bon Jovi....sheesh! He is from like, what? 1985 or something? Waaaaay before any of us were born!

Meanwhile, this is what was going on at home......

No, I am not hogging the chair.....Daddy likes to sit like that!

Java

Sweet Java will be dearly missed by his family and his blogging friends.
Java lived a wonderful life of twelve years but unfortunately,
he went to the Bridge today.
I can see Java resting peacefully and painlessly on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge in the warmth of the sun.
There is a wonderful tribute to Java at Rocky Creek Scotties.  Please stop by and show your support and love to his family.
RIP Sweet Boy!

Fantastic Flower Friday

It has been raining here for the last couple of days and even though I absolutely hate rain, I have decided it is better than snow! Momma said it is supposed to rain during the spring and that is why we have such beautiful spring flowers.
I'm still not a fan of rain but if it makes her happy......
We did have a thunderstorm yesterday. It seems strange to hear thunder when we had snow just a few weeks ago.
I hope everypup and everycat enjoys Flower Friday as much as Mom and I enjoy bringing it to you each week. Flower Friday is our way of celebrating the upcoming weekend and who doesn't want to celebrate that?

Things Have Been A Little Crazy

Hellooooo??????
You guys still out there?
I have really missed you!
I know, I'm the one who has been missing but I've still missed you!
We've got lots of "stuff" going on at home. Mom says I can't go into details but things have been quite heavy at home recently. We (Mom not me) haven't really been in the mood to blog recently while dealing with this "stuff". So, it is now time to catch up.
You might remember on my last post I said my Daddy had been out of town. Mom took a video of me saying hello to him when he got home:
In case you can't tell, I REALLY missed him!

I received a package in the mail from Mango!
Something smells yummy in here.
Peek-a-Boo!
I've got my eye on that rawhide.
Look at my winnings for being Readers Choice in the Hound Group at Mango Minster 2010!
See that MM 2010 magnet in the middle? More on that in a minute.
Thank you so much for the great package!
And here I am enjoying my winnings!
I'm one lucky pup, I tell ya!
Back to the magnet.....
Our refrigerator stopped working last week! I mean it just croaked! We now have a new one and it is much prettier than the old one we had. Our old one was avocado green (when I said old, I meant old!) and we now have a white one ;o) That is part of the "stuff" that has been going on around here. Anyway, I got to put my new MM 2010 magnet on our new fridge and it is the only magnet on there! It doesn't take much to make me feel special.....

You guys know what this is?
That's right! Those are Momma's tulips starting to come up! Woo Hoo!
We also have these first signs of spring showing up in our yard:
Can you believe it? It has been sunny and warm here for a few days and I'm hoping it lasts.

I haven't been feeling too good today so I didn't get to enjoy much of the sun. In between throwing up, I spent most of my day doing this:
I started feeling a little better this evening so Mom gave me some of the scrambled eggs she made for dinner.

I didn't have any trouble keeping them down and I know that made her and Daddy feel better. They were worried I was getting that tummy infection thing I have gotten before. Fortunately, it looks like I just had an upset tummy this morning.
I hope you enjoyed your Twix Pupdate!
