I Don't Brush My Teefers Day

Yes, yes, I know, this is Brush Your Teefers Day but, I don't do that.  I don't really like it and it hurts me.  As most of you know, the first 3 years of my life were spent making puppies at one of those horrible places.  During that time, I didn't have any dental care.  So, before I got to go home with Mom and Dad, I had to have a couple of my teefers pulled.....my 2 front teefs actually.  Then I had a whole bunch of teefers pulled the next year because they are just that bad.  Momma and Daddy tried brushing my teefers but I fought really hard even with the flavored teeferspaste.  Daddy said he thought the brushing was causing me pain so they stopped.  But, being the great pawrents they are, they didn't want me to lose the rest of my non-pearly whites so I have some different ways of keeping my teefers clean.

I get some of this stuff every morning on my breakfast.
We get this from our vet and it is just sprinkled on my food.  It only takes that tiny spoonful each day so the bottle lasts quite a while.

Then, before Mom and Dad leave for work, I get a Greenie every day.

I love my Greenies!  They are so yummy!
Then, when they get home from work, I get a Dentastix.

Oh, yeah!  These things are delish!
Mom and Dad also provide me with lots of bones to chew on, but most of them end up buried in the couch.

So, see, there are ways to help out your teefies without using the brush....just in case some of you are like me and don't like it.

I'm with you, Taffy. Don't go trying to stick that toothbrush in MY mouth. I'll gag. I'll bite it. I don't like it. I eat carrots. Lady is very interested in your plaque off powder, and will try to find it in India, or in the US when she goes for a visit. Thanks for the tip!

I have to say, the canine species (and feline for that fur) have managed for millennia without the aid of toothbrushes. Dental care was attended through the crunching of bones! I think your mummy and daddy are onto the right thing for you Taffy!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Your alternative methods must be working for you cuz Monkey Buns said you had kissable breath. I am trying to get it out of Stanley what his nickname is for you but so far he hasn't confessed.

Taffy I don't brush either!!!But I do chew my natural dental treats about 1 time a week. My toofers are purrty good for a 13 yo kitty. I'm so sorry about your missing toofs but you know my kitty cousin recently lost his last two toofers. He is a Cornish Rex kitty (they are very shorthaired). His mom calls him a hairless, toothless miracle. He has lots of health issues but keeps on ticking like a Timex watch.
Hugs madi your bfff

I do Blueberry's a few times a week, but she isn't that much of a fan. I do make sure to get her a dental at least once a year or every 2 years, depending on the vet's recommendation.
