Hi furiends! Thanks so much for all your good thoughts! I am blessed to have so many good buddies out there pulling for me. Overall, we got good news yesterday.
I'm hoping the same for Mona.
I'm hoping the same for Mona.
I do have hypothyroidism so that is good news! I already started taking my new medication yesterday but my furs aren't growing back yet....
There are still questions because one of the liver enzyme tests they ran was up but not the other one. Dr. Harsha says that still means Cushings is on the radar but a little farther down on the list. Usually Cushings causes both liver tests to be up but it could be early in the disease or it could be something else. He wants to see me in two weeks (instead of one as previously mentioned), recheck my urine and liver functions. If the liver tests are normal then he said we will consider it due to my infection. If they are abnormal then we will need to do further testing to find out what is going on. Then, I have to go back 2 weeks after that and have my thyroid checked again to see if the medication is working or if the dose needs to be changed.
That is my V.E.T pupdate for today now, let's find something more interesting to bark about....
ME!
Sniff, sniff, sniff.....I smell ice cream....
Can I have some, Daddy?
Please?
Now, you're just being mean!
Mmmmmm.....tastes great......
Yummmm......I feel better already!
I don't need those stinky pills....just give me ice cream!

That does sound like good news, Twix! We hope the new medicines will help your fur grow back. And we are hopeful you will hear more good news in a couple weeks...
After all that V.E.T. stuff, you definitely deserve some ice cream!!! :-)
Luv,
Cloud
Good luck with the medicine!!!
Furst... Good news about Mona... She came through the surgery with flying colors!!!
Now for YOU. I am sorry you have the thyroid thingy, butt that is at least an answer to your Furs question.
Ice Cream fixes most everything. If that doesn't work... Chicken Soup.
Sorry the VET wants more of your Pees. If you want I could send you some of mine. I'd be more than glad to share with you.
Oh, Twix, I am so sorry you have to keep visiting the vet for tests but at least your vet is working really hard to find out why you are losing fur! Poor baby, I hope you keep thinking positively and please know that all of your human and furry friends are thinking and praying for you (and for your mom)!
We'll keep the vibes going fur woo!

We're with Houndstooth, pills in ice cream. We always have our in cheese; that's heaps good.

Twix, my pups are keeping their paws crossed for you. I've had a pup with Cushing's before and I can say first hand how hard it is.
I'm glad your daddy gave you ice cream. It really does make life better!
We hope it is only a matter of getting the thyroid meds working. That would be wonderful and then you could get your beautiful furs back. Yummy ice cream, Twix, - you deserve it.

Hang in there Twix, Samba lost most of her hair and her liver enzymes got all wonky, but after a month on her thyroid meds, she has a new curly coat and her enzymes are all back where they belong.
We are so relieved to hear the vet news! That is definitely a start in the right direction and Grammy is planning to keep on praying about it and you're in our thoughts, too! We always insist that Grammy put our pill type meds in cream cheese, velveta, or some other kind of cheese. Ice Cream might work too... We'll catch you later, sweet Twix!
Hi Twix we will certainly keep healing wishes coming your way. We know you are in good hands and thanks Dad for sharing ice cream with you! We love you! xoxo
That's some good news, Twix... we'll keep sending healing vibes and thinking about you... hoping for more good news on your next VET visit... you're right, ice-cream can cure everything... you're such well-behaved sweetheart asking for the ice-cream... I would have pounced on my hooman :)

Who could possibly resist those sweet "give me ice cream" eyes?
So glad your thyroid medicine is underway. I bet it starts helping in no time! Ginger had to have it tweaked once or twice before it was optimal. I hope the other evens out as the infection goes away!
Wags,
Zona
So sorry to hear of you being not the the best shape Miss Twix. Glad to hear you got some ice cream. It looked most yummy!
Wags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo
So glad to hear that the doctor is able to get you on a treatment. We'll be thinking of you as you continue with your tests over the next few weeks. Enjoy that ice cream! :)
Oh gosh Twix, I'm sorry to hear about your missing fur and the trips to the vet. I hope the medicine gets you feeling better and makes your fur grow back.
At least you got some ice cream!
Waggles,
Bijou
Take your meds like a good pup and we hope you'll be feeling better soon...
Licks and sniffs,
Zack, Sassy and Buddy
Twix we are pleased to hear good news on the health front...and Madi says she is pretty darn sure ice cream is a cure all!!
Madi and Mom
Twix, we are sorry to hear that you've had the sickies lately. It's never fun being sick and having to go to the vet, but at least you found out what is wrong and are on medication. And don't feel bad about your hair loss. We have some hair loss too. It is Chihuahua pattern baldness and our chests and tummies are bare, oh and our temples are VERY thin. You're not alone!
We hope that you get all better furry soon. We are sending our love and healing vibes to you.
Chihuahua kisses,
The Munchkins
That does sound like relatively good news!
I don't see how your daddy can resist you when you do your ears like that!!!
Love,
Ammy
Dearest Twix, we are so very glad to hear this good news! We've been worried about you and even though you're not out of the woods yet, at least you are on the way to getting answers! Those pesky liver thingies, Lilibell had liver issues too last summer, but she is all better now, and we hope you will be real soon. But at least you're Dad made up for all your VET troubles with ice cream....nummie!!
Waggles & Chi kisses, Chewy & Lilibell
Gosh Twix, you sure have had an exciting week and not in a good way either. I never knew you were bald. Sure you don't need some rogaine?
But I am so glad that you are feeling better. My Raja had those bladder problems, but she pee'd in a cup. Ha! Imagine momma walking a 190 pound mastiff and stooping down to catch her pee. Caused quite a stir in the neighborhood I can tell you.
So the antibiotics will make that all better really fast and then I will keep my paws crossed that your hair issues are not too serious.
Slobbers,
Mango
Dear Twix,
Sorry we are coming in so late.
what a brave and absolutely adorable Dag u are to let the vet take your pee out. we know it must have been really bothersome.
we hope u get well soon.we agree, it would be much easier to treat hypothyroidism.
do keep us posted.
wags, Bud n Gin
My favorite pill is ice cream, too!
So glad that it looks as though things will be controlled without too much problem. Keep us posted!

We are so glad that your news is all good, so far. Our paws are all still crossed for you!
Woofs and Kisses!
The Fiesty Three
Hopefully the news will continue to be good! I know that my mentor and little big sister TaiChi had hypothyroidism, but because she was so ancient and venerable (and had so many other issues) they didn't treat it. However, you are pretty young and healthy, so hopefully the icky pills will work for you. Paws are crossed that nothing else is wrong. And don't worry about your furs - we think you are very cute no matter how many furs you have!
*kissey face*
-Fiona and Abby the Giant Pest
We are thinking about you and it is a good news but still some questions are left.
An ice cream a day keeps the v-e-t away!
Oh, sweet sweet girl, as you know, I'm not a good furiend any more because I'm so busy, so it really shocked me to find out the scare you had. Don't worry, you look beautiful to me, always will, and I must say, I feel lucky I got to find out you're going to be okay. Phew! Mona will be fine too, you'll see :)
xoxoxo
Twinkie
I'm so glad you are doing better Twix. We'll keep sending out those good thoughts and hopefully your next two vet visits will bring even more good news.
Flash, Alven and Dottie
How did we know that you'd get to slurp some of that yummy delight☺
Oh sweet Twix, we are so sorry for all the problems appeared in your life. We don't know much about thyroid problems at dogs, either. Do you think it may appeared because of the age?
Lucy, our dear female dacksy, is going to be 9 in August. She had a kidney problem last week and the vet said is probably some stone issue. We haven't done yet the tests, but we are concern too.
We wish you all the best. We wish you sweet little creature to get better soon and your fur to grow back more beautiful than ever.
We noticed your nails (couldn't smell your bootie),your vet did a wonderful job. We are suppose to have the same "treatments" these days, too. Lucy hate it, but Freddy is a real hero, no scream, no vet's hand bite. After all he is a male.
Hope to hear better news about you,
your furry friends from Romania
hey twix - sorry you're not feeling good - I know all about those liver issues - gotta watch your diet real close with a lousy liver -
