Twix's First Giveaway...Just in time for Christmas!

I received an unexpected package in the mail not too long ago. Inside I found a letter to me and two books. Strange, I thought, until I read the letter. It was from some furiends of mine and yours, Dog and Cat. What I read in that letter shocked me!

Dear Twix,

We need some assistance and we did not know where else to turn, so we are writing to you. You see, together we have lived with a human companion for the past 5 years. At first, it was an exciting time. A new house, we were each given our own bed in which to sleep, new toys were brought home on a regular basis, life was good. In fact, when our relationship with our human was in the early stages, he even brought different food home for us to try. Every day was a new experience. We couldn't have been happier.

Then things started to take a turn for the worse. First, the food stopped changing. The same thing, day after day, no new and exciting meals. The new toys stopped coming. In fact, Dog has been gnawing on the same bone for the last two years. He is so ashamed; he hides the bone when guests come over. Cat has been wearing the same bell for a year and a half, and the tingly thing no longer tingles. It no longer is a purrfect existence. We thought maybe our owner had found another pet, but we realized he had simply become uninterested in us.

The other day we were surfing the web (we were bored), and we came upon these two great new books. Cat Lover's Daily Companion and Dog Lover's Daily Companion. They seem purrfect! They seem to be just what our owner needs to start to enjoy us again.

Can you believe that? Their parents, humans, Mom and Dad, two-leggers, bipeds, etc. have become bored with them? How can we let something like that happen in our world? Below is a photo of the books and a description provided by the publisher. You can click on the book to go to the publisher's website for more information.

In Dog Lovers Daily Companion, Pet Lifestyle Advisor™ Wendy Nan Rees shares her invaluable knowledge gleaned from 25+ years in the pet industry. She has created a unique, irreplaceable, easy-to-use--and inspiring--handbook filled with 365 helpful tips, easy-to-build projects, practical advice, and insight into the canine-human relationship for all dog owners to use every day of the year. This book will provide you with a lifetime's worth of practical tips for living with your dog, no matter the breed. Wendy brings her expertise--and genuine love for dogs--to every topic under the sun needed to raise a healthy puppy into a happy adult dog.

Cat Lover's Daily Companion is a unique, easy-to-use, and inspiring handbook filled with a years worth of insight, helpful tips, and practical advice into the feline-human relationship for all cat lovers and owners. Whether you're a cat owner yourself or someone who just loves all things cat, this book will provide you with a lifetime's worth of ways to enjoy and appreciate cats, whether or not you have a house full of cats, or just a shelf full of books. The format of the book—a year-long, day-minder-type book—is not meant to be read cover to cover; rather, the book can fall open on any given day and still serve its designated purpose. Cat Lover's Daily Companion will be completely indexed so readers in search of specific content, not just dabbling, will be able to navigate it.

If you feel like your humans have become bored with you and are not paying you the attention they once were you should certainly put your name in for this giveaway. How surprised would your parents be to get a book from you for Christmas? Much less one that they can actually learn from? And if you look really closely at the dog book, that is a doxie on the front! You can't get a more perfect book! ;o)

I had my Mom review the books and she feels like they have loads of great information for pet lovers, even if they are not uninterested in their cat/dog. Since my parents have had a chance to review the books I thought it would be nice if we shared them with you guys. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. I will put everyone's name in a dog bowl and randomly pull out the winners (one for each book). Feel free to tell your furiends about my giveaway. Names will be accepted until midnight on December 12th. That way Mom has time to package up the books and get them in the mail for you in time for Christmas.

Hi, Twix!
Certainly I hope I will never have to write a letter like that one!
But I am sure those books have interesting info to live a rich life with us... like their title says!
And your mom and dad are very nice sharing them!

Our Mom is definitely interested in us, but she wants to "kick things up a notch" and would love the dog book - she checked it out at Barnes and Noble and it's on her Christmas list.

Thanks for the opportunity to win it for her.

Hi Twix,

These books must be very nice cause you are the second doggie we know who is offering them in a drawing.

Mom would really like to have the doggy book, but since I already put my name in over at Gus & Waldo's blog, she says I can't do it again.

Bijou

That's way too sad! I've lived with Mom and Dad the longest of all of us (I'm over 14 now so it's been almost 13 years) and I'm not bored with them yet. (Ha roo.) We're all in it for the long haul around here. A commitment is a commitment forever!

PS: Yes, we LOVE the cold weather! Now if only we could get some SNOW!!!
PS again: Think the Chiefs can do it to Denver today?

What a sweet book! Those poor, neglected pets. My friends came over for supper Saturday night and acted kind of surprised that the DOG has a stocking. WEll, of course he does! He lives here, too. He eats and plays and works just like the other valuable members of our family. Ok, not so much on the work side, but he takes his security guard calling very seriously!

It is always nice to have new ideas and tips to make our lives more exciting. We know our humans have lots of interest in us, but you never know, there might be some clever ideas in there.

Twix,
I'd be happy to put up a book blurb on my blog.
Would something like 'Madi and I would like to invite you to visit Twix (with a link) to read about her book giveaway.' Be what you want us to put up? If not tell me a little more about it...did your Mom write it? I guess I need to re-read the post. We'll keep your G-ma in our prayers

Hey Twix!

I'm so glad I checked out your blog. You are my very favorite style of doggie! I have some good friends who look like you. (But you are even cuter!)

It is so nice that you are giving away books to help the humans. I know there are a lot of humans who need help with their furry friends.

Big wet kisses,

Hi Twix,

We read about you on Madi's blog and came over to visit. My mom says I keep life interesting at our house and she could never get tired of me but more ideas are always good.

We have been checking out you blog and think it is very cool. We will be back to read more.

Great job as always Twix, We can't figure out why humans would do that to their dogs and cats. Mom and Dad know that we, Chip and Ginger, are fully in charge.
