Daddy bought me my very first rawhide! I know, some of you must find it hard to believe that a 10 year old cutie like me never had rawhide before. Momma had heard that they were not good for dogs so she had never gotten me any as a pup. They decided since so many of my furiends get them and not had any problems to give it a try.

Once I grabbed that thing I ran into the living room and plopped down on my under-the-coffee-table-blanket. You may have noticed a lot of my photos are taken on this blanket....Mom and Dad can't figure out why I like to lay under the coffee table but I do. If they don't know where I am, I can hide under there and they go looking everywhere for me.....Hehe!
Hmmmm.....I'm thinking this is yummylicious!
It didn't take long before I was in power chewing mode.

Mom recently washed my blanket, against my wishes, and now there are white fuzzies all over it.

After all, it didn't take too long for me to finish it off.
I was able to make a complete mess out of my blanket too!

We aren't allowed to have rawhide. Something about trying to swallow big chunks of stuff.....

Hi Twix! I'm glad you liked your first rawhide, Sadie isn't allowed to have them, but you look like you really liked it and you can remember it longer from the ick on the blanket too.
I'm glad you enjoyed your first rawhide. Those suckers are banned in our house; we try to swallow without chewing. Ruff, Beckett & Meadow.

I have them from time to time but Mom monitors my chewing - when it gets to be a smaller piece, she'll take it from me...
Maybe woo should try a bullystikhk...that might be fun to try!

Hi Twix! That rawhide sure looks yummy! Mommy won't get me any. She says the same thing that they are dangerous. I just wish she'd take out the time to look at your adorable pix and see that the only thing that happened to you was that you had sheer simple delightful pleasure. She did speak with my teacher and she too said none for me. Next time you have one take extra licks for all us deprived furiends!!

That rawhide looked yummylicious right enough - we have never had that and haven't seen them over here. We do get pig's ears now and again that we love.

Glad to see you got to try rawhide. We used to have them but Mom said we try to swallow the pieces when they are too big. Just be careful with yours, Twix, we don't want you to get sick or hurt from them.

Hey Twix! Welcome to the world of rawhide addicts! I am a card-carrying member, myself. I can understand your pawrents' concern tho' as my human had the same...an obedience instructor told her to get the "compressed" kind, which is safer since it comes apart in thin layers instead of chunks.

we cant have rawhide either - we eat them too quickly and they can cause severe intestinal issues for guttons like us

Mom and Dad don't let us have rawhide or pig ears. They used to give us the rawhide chews from the vets office that helped clean our teeth but we don't even get that anymore. Mom is scared they will settle and get stuck in our teensy little tummies and we do like to eat chunks. So many dogs get rawhide and pig ears and are fine though, so I don't know why she won't let us have any. We do get bully sticks though and we LOVE them. That rawhide you have looks mighty tasty and your techniques are great!

Looks yummy! Our dad won't let us have rawhide either....but we get our favorite...raw chicken feet. We love to go under tables and chew too....it's very private!
Oh, we've had rawhide "flips" for years, and they've never caused us any problems. Mom does keep an eye on us, especially when she hears us trying to swallow a big piece... we usually just gag it back up, and rechew (which makes Mom gag too:)
We enjoy one at least once or twice a week. We also get the rawhide bones that are about 8-10 inches long and they last a long time!
My Chihuahua is kind of odd in that he doesn't even like raw hides. He is a very picky eater, but he is all about chewing on his plastic bone. Go figure!
