Flower Friday is Finally here!

Has this been a long week, or what?
I'm finally feeling almost back to normal. My appetite is starting to return to doxie levels and I'm having more energy.
Thanks to everyone (furiends and friends) for the crossed paws and healing thoughts.
Mom sat me down and had a long discussion with me. So long I almost wished I was still sick. Sheesh! She made it very clear how important it is that I not eat junk off the ground when I am out walking. I tried to explain but she was having none of it. She doesn't care how tasty it smells or how it calls my name.
She said I need to stay away from it.
Can you believe that?
Uh, Hello! I am a DACHSHUND!!
You know, being an 'older woman' it has been a while since I got a lecture and I really didn't appreciate it much.
Next, she told me I needed to get a job.
WHAT?I've never had a job. What does she mean I need to get a job? Doesn't she have a job? I'm pretty sure that is the whole reason Dad leaves me everyday too....at least it better be. I pondered this for a bit and realized those vet bills are quite hefty at times and maybe I could help out. I told her I knew how to say,
"You want fries with that?"

Have a great weekend!

Hi Twix!
nice flower.
It's nice to see your getting back to your old self.
And as far as that job, maybe you would do better at a pet store, they have a lot of treats there!

Hi, Twix!
Happy... almost friday!
I am so happy to know your are doing much better!
I know it is not easy to resist the temptation of yummy things we find on the ground but please be careful! I don't want you to get sick again!
A job?? Nope! It does not sound good!
Take care

Wrooo wrooo, Great to hear you're feeling and eating better...We understand how tempting stuff on the ground can be, but it's not good for our tummies.
Take care!

Glad you are feeling better!!! As for getting a job where you ask "do you want fries with that?" - that seems to me that it might lead you to eating MORE things that maybe you shouldn't.... I'd talk to your Mom about getting you started in modeling or, maybe as a spokesperson for your vet? Or suggest that all those hours that she spends sleeping could be spent at a second job.... :-)

Twix, I am so so so so glad that you are feeling better. I have to kind of agree with you about the food on the ground. I mean come on, it is just there waiting for us, right at our level. Please don't get sick again, I worry about my friend Twix. Let me know how the job works out. Have you thought about a lemonade stand out front, I bet know one could resist you.

Dear Twix,

We are so happy you are feeling better. You must listen to your Mom and eat sensibly. We know what it's like when you are close to the ground - there's a smorgasbord just waiting to be discovered.

Hi Twix,

I am sooo happy you are feeling better again. Listen to your mom and leave those "treats" on the ground please.

I hope you don't really have to go to work. The jobs are kinda scarce right now so it's a pain looking for one. Who needs that stress?

oh twix - i'm so glad you are feeling better - maybe you could be the PR front person for your mom like I am - however it is hard work being gone all day and getting in and out of the car and smiling and showing what a good puppy I am - hmmmm - i might have to re-think this work thing and decide it's best for me to stay home while mom is out

Very relieved to hear you are feeling better!!! It's so hard to keep their snoots off the ground. If I fish one more wood chip out of Ruby's mouth, I can build a small log cabin.

Glad you're feeling better, Twix. Andy says to tell you his mom actaully makes him spit out goodies on the sidewalk and has stuck her HANDS in his THROAT to get things he didn't want to give up. Talk about silly. Told you yesterday that jobs don't work for those of us who nap 40 billion times a day... =)

Hey Twix, glad to see you're feeling a lot better!! My sissie Lilibell is ALWAYS putting things in her mouth, Mom gets so mad at her, but it's sooo funny seeing Mom digging around her mouth trying to get things out! Lilibell is a little sneak, she always manages to hide the things in her mouth so Mom can't find them, which frustrates Mom to the max, BOL!

Beautiful flower, Twix!
And I TOTALLY understand about the lecture! I'm 13 and have taken to going up to my mom and just woofing her up one side and down the other. No reason. Just to give her a piece of my mind. You should try that. It's very cleansing. :)

Don't let it get to you Twix. Your momma is so glad you were better, she'd do it all over again just the same. These humans have some affliction that makes them value guilt.... We dogs are luckily free from this burden :)
Glad to hear you are feeling better in any event!!

aw thanks for my award, Twix! It's double special cuz I think I don't have to do anything, right? I need to ask my mom to make something special for our date. I do have army pants and a nice polo but I was thinking of something dressier (plus my pants are kind short on my torso cuz I guess they were made for a terrier or sumptin.) Hope u r doing well!! :) Hugs, Baxter
