I heard Mom and Dad talking about company coming tomorrow. They didn't say who it was but I did hear that I'm not gonna be happy about it. I don't know why they think that...I like company, especially when they pet me! I'll let ya know when I find out.

You guessed it...I am NOT happy about this "company" we have. Can't wait til company is gone!

Our company is Baxter. He lives a few doors down. I don't mind playing with him--OUTSIDE! But I especially like going to see his Mom; she always has good treats! Baxter will be here another day or two but he is so hyper....I think he has doggie ADD. He growls at me when I get close to his crate and when he is near his food. He thinks he is soooo tough but he isn't cuz then he runs off and I eat his food!

Flower Friday

Mom is leaving town today and won't be back till Monday. So, I won't be visiting you guys this weekend. But, the great part is, I get to be home with Daddy by myself for 3 days! Can you say Spoiled?

Today's flower comes straight from our flower garden this week! I hope you enjoy them as much as Mom and I do. Tulips are Mom's favorite flower and I must admit they are pretty. In the past, several of you have mentioned eating flowers. Are you serious? Why do you eat them? Do they taste good? I've never eaten a flower. I think you guys are just weird!

A package came in the mail Thursday and Mom said it was for me and Dad.

See that picture of me up at the top? I was all comfy on the floor and Momma came and put that stupid camera in my face. Just as she clicked, Daddy came into the room. She calls this picture "Worship" because I worship my daddy. Can't you can tell by my look?

I have the best Daddy in the world! I was about 2 when he started coming around. He didn't really like me at first...because I'm small of all things! So, since he didn't like me, I didn't like him! I even used to steal his food when he wasn't looking....OH! That made him mad! Tee Hee! I loved it! Anyway, Momma got sick and had to go to the hospital for a week. Daddy had to come over and take care of me and my step sister. When he tells the story he says we "bonded" during that time. The truth is, he felt sorry for me because Momma wasn't here and he spoiled me. He has been spoiling me ever since too.

I follow him everywhere and Momma gets jealous. Sorry, Momma, you don't spoil me like he does. I can get away with anything with Daddy. This is how much I love him....

We are even the same color...and we have the same eye color even though you can't tell in this picture. Maybe he was around from the beginning and Momma was hiding him!

Date Night will be here soon and Momma is going out of town for work this weekend.....yikes! 

Ok, here is what you need to know about Date Night:

~You can come with a date or not

~I will post the names of those without dates....maybe I will be a matchmaker

~If you haven't asked your date yet, you better hurry

~I will be snooping around on your blogs and pulling photos to post here so if you have photos you don't want copied to my blog you need to let me know

~If you have some funny photos of yourself and want to email them to me (link on the sidebar) that would be wonderful
~I don't have PhotoShop so if anyone wants to assist I would probably accept the help

~I am afraid I did "too good" of a job with Ladie's Night and will disappoint this time around
~Let me know if you have any questions

There have been several young ladies who have said they are "old-fashioned" and wanted the guy to ask them to be their date. I just wanted to remind you that some of those guys might not be followers of my bloggie (shame on them!) so you might want to go ahead and ask.

My leg looks better today.  Many of you know this but since I have some newbies I wanted to tell you that my Aunt Shannon is a V.E.T. tech. So, she got a phone call last night and recommended we wait and see how my leg looked today instead of going to the Emergency V.E.T. She showed Dr. Abby my pictures today and Dr. Abby (who also has a blog and reads my blog) said she didn't know what it was but it wasn't a snake bite. So, as long as it continues to look better I am in good shape. Mom and Dad are watching it closely to make sure it doesn't show any sign of infection. Mom mentioned something about a "lampshade" but decided I didn't need one. Thank DOG!
Thank you so much for all your advice and kind words after yesterday's post. I don't know what I would do without such great furiends. 

I Have A Secret...

....and I'm not telling Mom or Dad anything about it. 

Daddy noticed I had "something" on my leg and when he went to look at it he saw I was injured. He and Momma cleaned it up as much as I would let them and have put some antibiotic ointment on it. Neither one of them can figure out what happened to me and they aren't too happy that I won't give up my secret. 

They think maybe I was bitten by something but they can't figure out what. It is still to cold for snakes and I am not outside by myself either. I wasn't home alone today and spent most of my time sleeping.
I just love a good puzzle, don't you?
Mom said I had to post some photos to see if any of my furiends pawrents might know what this looks like.
Any ideas out there?

Now, some info on Date Night.

I have had several of you say that you don't know if you can get a date. You don't have to have a date in order to attend. I've also heard a few of you mention you are really busy and might not have time. That is not a good excuse either.....YOU don't have to do anything except let me know you want to go and who your date is (if you have one). I make Mom do all the rest! One other thing I've heard is concern over if the object of your desire is not available....For one, you don't know till you ask and two, there are a lot of dogs and cats in the treat jar so ask and if you get turned down, ask somepup or somecat else. DUH!

We will be putting up more info this week and leave a post for you to let me know if you will be attending. 

One more thing....here's a photo of me in case you forgot what I look like. I've been doing a lot of "business" on the blog lately and haven't been showing you my beauty....

As I mentioned a few days ago, I will be re-posting some of my earliest blog posts as my blogaversary approaches.

The following is my very first post from April 11, 2009:

When people meet me for the first time, they look at me and then ask either Mom or Dad, "Is you favorite candy bar a Twix?". Of course, they reply, "N0".

Lets go back several years....My momma met me for the first time when I was 3 weeks old. That is when she chose me out of all my brothers and sisters--lucky me! (That is another story for another time.) At that time I was a tiny chocolate and tan (caramel is what Mom prefers to say) dachsie. After I came home, Mom had a hard time picking out my name but finally decided to name me after a candy bar because of my color. Okay, so we finally have it narrowed down. I mean, how many candy bar names are there anyway? Well it seems I was a bit naive because there are hundreds of candy bar names.

Here we go.... Hershey--no, most chocolate dogs have that name. Zero--kinda cute but no, don't want to be thought of as nothing. Rolo--maybe. Snickers--no, same reason as Hershey. Chunky--NO! for obvious reasons. Reese's--maybe. Kit Kat--I hate cats! The list went on and on. I came very close to being named Rolo but Mom finally decided on Twix. After all, I kinda look like a Twix bar...or at least, I did. You know, long and thin, chocolate and tan. But at some point I started to change color and Mom was not too happy about it. And that is how a red dachsie ended up with a name like Twix.

It is extremely important that you read this post if you were not around when we had Ladie's Night so that you understand what you are getting in to if you accept this invitation. Those of you who were around or attended Ladie's Night might want to read it again to refresh your memories. At that time I promised if Ladie's Night was a hit I would host another night out.....

Date Night!

Please do not tell me you are attending yet, as I am not ready for that....we are still working out the details but I wanted you to start thinking about who you might want to take as a date. There are no rules as to how you get your date. Girls can ask the guys or guys can ask the girls or you can kidnap your date if you wish....again, there are no rules. 

Now, I want to clear up one other thing.
I know this will break some hearts but,
when I mentioned Date Night way back in October,
Hero asked me to be his date and I told him yes.
Sorry, boys, you will have to find another hottie to escort.
That doesn't mean I can't dance with others does it Hero? 

I can't wait to get this pawty started!
