I Got A Letter From Mom!

As most of you know, today is the
Official Blogville
Letter To My Paw Pal day.

I apologize for the length of this letter.
My momma thinks she has a lot to say.

Dear Taffy,
Your 4th Gotcha Day (a.k.a. your 7th birthday) will be here soon and I can't believe it.  I don't know if you knew this or not, but before we got you I had decided that the next dog your daddy and I got would be a puppy mill dog.  I did not tell that to anyone, not even your daddy.  So, one day when we were at the vet with Twix, your dad mentioned to Dr. Abby that if she ever had a Wire-haired Dachshund come through Hard Luck Hounds we would like for her to let us know.  A few months later, I got an email from Dr. Abby saying she was aware of a Wire-haired Dachshund at a "breeding facility" and she wanted to know if we were interested.  I knew right then that you were going to be our dog.  I had no idea what you looked like or what your temperament was but I knew you were going to be ours.  We went to meet you and you were so scared.  I can only imagine what you went through during the first 3 years of your life.  This is the very first photo I have of you, taken on the day we met you.

This picture is from the day we brought you home.

I know that Twix was not all that nice to you most of the time but you two had your moments.

At that time, Twix was not doing too good and had pretty much stopped eating.  I feel like you gave us an additional 6 months with her because she viewed you as competition.
I will always be thankful to you for giving us that extra time.

It took a long time for your personality to develop to where it is today but I absolutely love the dog you've become.

I love that you are a happy, care free girl.
I love the way you look at me with those deep brown eyes.

I love how you see every person or animal as a friend.
I love how patient you are (especially with me).

I love that you make me laugh every day.
I love how you bury your bones and then can't quite figure out how to un-bury them.

I love how you've learned to trust your daddy and I.
I love how much you love roaching.

The list goes on and on......

With all my love,
Momma

Stanley Gets His Answer

Welcome to the Blogville City Mayorz Office.

The Mayorz are busy in their office.

They are hard at work.

The Doodz leave for a meeting.
Taffy puts lunch in their office.
She takes extra care as she places Stanley's plate.

Later that afternoon.

A Tasty Review of Beams

I got a surprise in the mail the other day.  It seems Mom decided I would review a product from Chewy.com but she forgot to tell me.  So, imagine (seriously, you have to imagine cuz I don't have a photo) the look of shock on my face when this is what I found in the package.

Look at what a generous bag of treats came in that box.

And, look how enormous they are!

I was a very willing taste tester.

I was so excited that Mom didn't get one photo of me that wasn't blurred!

 These babies are fantastic!

I would totally give them 4 paws up but my paws are busy holding my Beam at the moment.

Thats all for my review.....
Here is some important stuff from Mom......

I had previously looked at these on Chewy's site as a healthy chew for Taffy so I was happy to see The Honest Kitchen items as an option for this month's reviews.  I have bought other fish skin chews before but I end up having fish scales all over the living room.  With these chews, I didn't have that problem.  And, as demonstrated above, Taffy loves them!

I do have to offer a word of caution with these treats.  Taffy is NOT an aggressive chewer but she loves these so much that she ends up trying to swallow it before it has been chewed appropriately.  So, as with all dog chews, make sure you supervise your pet during their chew time.  Even though Taffy has to be watched closely when eating these, I will purchase them in the future for her.

Chewy.com did not pay us for our honest review.  They did provide the treats at no charge in exchange for our review.

What's My Job?

As everyone knows, the new Mayoral Doodz have taken over Blogville City Hall.  And with the Administration change, I have been given a few new pawsitions.
First of all, I am the
Blogville Mayorz Office Manager.
Stanley wanted to make sure I had a pawfect office designed for short dogs and had the entire space remodeled.  He is the sweetest boss and this new office is pretty sweet too!

I'm not sure where this pawsition will take me this year but I'm excited to find out.
I will be doing general office duties like:
Sorting mail

Shredding confidential documents

Answering phones

And, of course, working on the computer
And, before you ask, reading Stanley & Murphy's blog is part of the job!

Anyway, working on the computer brings me to my next pawsition of
Director of Blogger Technology.

As the DBT, I will answer any questions you have regarding Blogger (hopefully).  Feel free to email me or leave a comment on my blog with your questions.

As if that wasn't enough to keep me busy, I have also accepted the pawsition of
Blogville Parole Agent.
I even got my own badge from Sidebite.

For any of you that get locked up, know that you will have to deal with me when you are released.
Shhhh......don't tell but I heard that one of Blogville's well known trouble makers may soon be a parolee.

And, I am also a member of the
Blogville Community Choir.
After our wonderful pawformance on Friday, I think I will join the alto section with Whitley.  I realized my voice isn't quite as ear piercing high as some of the other girls.

Whew!  I don't think I can handle too much more.
I better take a nap to prepare for work.

Beauty Sleep

I've been working hard trying to get my beauty sleep in preparation for the Inauguration tomorrow.
You know, the girl on the arm of one of Blogville's new Mayorz must be beautiful.

I have a problem though.....

Someone keeps waking me up with their camera.
I won't mention any names but, it happens to be the other female in my house!

The Best Christmas of my Life!

I'm a little late getting this post out.....you know, since Christmas was LAST YEAR!
However, I had an amazing Christmas and even though I am late I still wanted to share it with you.  Hopefully this post won't be too long and bore you to death.

So, one of Momma's friends gave her a little stocking hat just for me and of course she had to put it on me.

I found out that it does keep my head warm when I am napping so I might wear it some more this winter but don't count on it.

Mom and Dad had their family Christmas on Christmas Eve.  Here is a photo of Grandma giving Elizabeth a gift.  I know those of you who are long time followers of this blog are aware that Grandma has Leukemia.  She was feeling pretty good on Christmas Eve so we wanted to share this pic of her.  We will try to give you guys an update on her sometime soon.

This is what I had to endure on Christmas Day.

She was able to get a pic of me with that one on but I wasn't having any part of having another one of these things put on my head.  Unfortunately, no matter how much I protested, Momma figured out a way to get a picture of me with this other one on.  I protested so much she had to put it in the hat to keep it on!!!

I now understand what my furiend, Ruby, goes through on a regular basis.

I made sure to let Mom know exactly how I felt about this.

Ok, so on to the good part.
Daddy laid this bag in front of me and I decided to carry it across the room and hopped on the couch with it in my mouth.

I don't know what is in here but it sure smells good.

I'm sure I can get this open if I try hard enough.

I even had to use some of my top secret ninja moves on it!

That finally did the trick!

I had to make sure the dog on the front of the package wasn't able to eat any of these cuz they are totally yummy!  They are apple slices with chicken wrapped around them!

This is all the loot I got from Momma and Daddy.
Yes, those are boots you see in that package.....
Too bad, they didn't fit!!! :0)

Now onto the even better part.....

My gift from Lily for the Blogville gift exchange.
Daddy took the presents out of the box for me and there were so many....I didn't know where to start.

It didn't take me long to find the one I wanted.

Give it to me!

Lily did an amazing job picking out the perfect gifts for me.
I got some bully sticks, a yummy package of cookies, a Nylabone, and well, this other bone that I can't pull myself away from.

OMD!  This is so wonderful!

Thank you, Lily!
You did an pawsome job with my gifts and you were so generous!

Excuse me but I gotta check the inside part of this bone.

So yummy!

Like I said, this was the best Christmas of my life!
