Today's My Gotcha Day!!!

No one knows when my birthday really is so today we celebrate my 6th birthday and my 3rd gotcha day!

Knowing what today is, I was really excited when I
received a note from Stanley yesterday.

He asked me to come by for BDA band practice.
Hmmmm....????
I don't usually go to band practice with them AND today is my Gotcha Day so I am a bit curious.  I decided to do some extra preparations yesterday.....just in case.
I went and had a professional bath (so I smelled good),
got my furs cut (so I looked pretty),
had my ears cleaned (so I can hear Stanley whisper to me).
How do I look?

Do you think Stanley will like my new 'do?

Oh, I also had a pawdicure.
I requested a color to match my collar.

Stanley loves it when I get my nails done.
All this grooming sure does wear a girl out!

Before heading over to band practice, grab a cupcake.

Now, come with me to see the rest of the celebration!

I Got a Box from Chewy.com!

I have read on several of my furiends blogs about Chewy.com but hadn't been able to talk Momma into buying me anything yet.  I had no idea that she was working with Mr. Andrew at Chewy.com to get some treats for me to review.
In my package, there was a nice big bag of treats.

Momma gave me one and I gobbled it down.
I thought it was fantastic!
I tried to get her to give me another one but she said,
"No, Taffy.  One is enough."
Hmmm.....how can I get more of those tasty snacks?
I laid on the couch and pretended to faint from hunger.

Ha!
It worked!

However, it didn't work exactly as I had planned because.....

she decided to make me work for it!

It took me a few minutes but I did it!

All that work was SO worth it!

Furiends, the best part about these (besides the taste)
is that Mom likes them too!
She says they have great ingredients and are healthy for me.
AND, they are made right here in the US!

I would say those treats are lip smackin good!

You don't think she'll make me work that hard for them again, do you?
Thank you for letting me review one of your products, Chewy.com!

Disclaimer:  These treats were provided to me at no charge to write an honest review.  I was not compensated in any way for the review.

Twix's Flashback Friday: A Special Post for Daisy and Hailey

My heart is breaking as I write this post because we lost 2 very special girls yesterday:  Daisy and Hailey.

When we made the decision to help our girl across the bridge I knew it was the right decision but I also wondered if we should have waited.  I wondered if she might have gotten better given more time.  I found this poem and it really helped me feel more at ease about the decision we made.
I hope it brings comfort to both families.

FROM FRIEND TO FRIEND

You're giving me a special gift,
So sorrowfully endowed,
And through these last few cherished days,
Your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing
When your best friend is in pain,
And understanding earthly acts
Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,
Beyond, into your soul,
I see in you the magic, that will
Once more make me whole.

The strength that you possess,
Is why I look to you today,
To do this thing that must be done,
For it's the only way.

That strength is why I've followed you,
And chose you as my friend,
And why I've loved you all these years...
My partner 'til the end.

Please, understand just what this gift,
You're giving, means to me,
It gives me back the strength I've lost,
And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf,
For that is what friends do.
And know that what you do is right,
For I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent,
And through your hand I feel,
The courage that's within you,
To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here,
Dear friend, and let me run,
Once more a strong and steady dog,
My pain and struggle done.

And don't despair my passing,
For I won't be far away,
Forever here, within your heart,
And memory I'll stay.

I'll be there watching over you,
Your ever faithful friend,
And in your memories I'll run,
...a young dog once again.

In Memory of Asta, Feb. 1997

Since Twix was friends with both girls, I know she was there to great them as they journeyed across the bridge.

Please stop by both blogs and leave some words of comfort for both families.  I know from my own experience how much it helps a hurting heart to read comments left by long time friends and ones you are meeting for the first time.

One Magical Night

Friday night was the best night of my life!
Stanley took me to the Queen of Hearts Dance sponsored by Madi and Mad Snapper.
First, he picked me up in his pupcopter!!

I've never flown before and it was so much fun.  Little did I know that I would be flying again later in the evening.
Bad Dawg Agency had 6 sets throughout the day:
We completely sold out of merchandise.
Be on the lookout for doggies and kitties dressed in BDA
T-shirts while blaring their top hit, "Out to Pee".

During a break for the other band members, Stanley called me up on stage and we sang a duet of "Puppy Love".  We had rehearsed prior to performing but I had no idea that Stanley was planning to change the lyrics during the pawformace.

OMD!  Stanley just sang that he loved me!  That made me the happiest wiener dog in the world!  But that wasn't all he had planned for our special evening.  As soon as our duet ended, he handed me this beautiful bouquet of flowers.

How he got a flower bouquet that looked like him,
I will never know.  I won't need the pupcopter to get home cuz I'm flying on cloud 9!

We each headed to our dressing rooms and prepared for the big dance.  Seeing Stanley in his tux caused me to have sweaty paws.  Back up ladies.....he's MINE!
Thank You  Sarge for providing my beautiful corsage.

We mingled with the crowd then headed over to get a cocktail and snack from Ruby.  After sipping on our "Ruby's Love Potion No. 87" Stanley suggested we go over to Maggie Mae and Max's to check out the love messages.  Stanley had another surprise for me with a special message.

After receiving my special message, we decided to play Pin the Heart on the Donkey at Through Squirrel Eyes.  That was so much fun!  I never knew how much effort it took for a vertically challenged girl like myself to actually get the heart ON the donkey.  I was so hungry I started eating the hearts!

Besides being hungry, I was feeling a bit weak in the knees.  I suggested we have dinner at Sasha's and it was fantastic!  That Sasha can cook!  Even though the food was great, it didn't make my knees feel any stronger.  Hmmm....

Next, we headed to The Legacy Chronicles for the Kissing Booth.  I slipped away while Stanley was chatting with Murphy and snuck into the booth.  Stanley turned to look for me and I popped my head out of the booth.....Surprise!  Stanley looked at me with love in his eyes and we shared our first kiss!  He grabbed my hand and we headed out to the dance floor.  We shook our booties to some great tunes provided by Rockin' Wills.  A romantic slow song began playing and next thing I know.....

Stanley and I are dancing the Tango! I just couldn't imagine anything else Stanley could do to surprise me.  I mean seriously, this night has been magical!  He did have one last thing tucked under his collar.  We went for a walk in the romantic gardens provided by Wyatt.  I'm sure you've figured it out by now but Stanley did have one more surprise for me.  He handed me an envelope with this sweet card inside.

I took my time reading it and savored every word.

There were 2 little packages inside the card.
The first package had one of Stanley's curls in it.

OMD!
That lock of  fur smelled so good I tried to eat it!  Stanley gently took it from my mouth and told me he wanted me to keep it under my pillow and dream of him every night.
You'll never guess what was in the second package.
(Sorry for the blurry image.  The photographer has problems.)

Jewelry!
Stanley made this special piece of jewelry just for me!
I gave him a huge hug, snuggled up to his soft ear and whispered, "I love you, Stanley".
We shared another kiss or two and called it an evening.

Stanley, thank you so much for the most wonderful night of my life!  I will never forget this night as long as I live.

Mom is helping me find a special collar to wear my jewelry on so it doesn't get messed up clanking around with my other tags.  This will most certainly be saved for special occasions.

BDA Performance at Queen of Hearts Dance

As the Band Manager for the Bad Dawg Agency,
I wanted to offer some products to the fans before the band takes the stage.

First of all, I have a signed CD available for you.  This signed CD is available at a special price for Blogville residents.

We also have T-Shirts available.
All T-Shirts are only 87 pup toys.

This T-Shirt with the lead singer, Roxy,
shows off her love of fashion.

The next T-Shirt available is this one with Murphy on it.
Look out ladies, he is the only single band member and I hear he is looking for love (in all the wrong places!).

Of course, we have a T-Shirt with Ernie on it.
Even though he isn't single, he sure is handsome!
I hear most girls find drummers to be HAWT!

The final T-Shirt we have available for you is Murphy.
Even though he is adorable in his bunny ears,
he is no longer on the market, ladies.

Lastly, I have an autographed photo for you.  This is a rare autographed photo of the band in performance attire.
You can purchase this picture for a mere 87 pieces of kibble.

Due to the popularity of the BDA, I am also offering a pair of meet and greet passes to a lucky Blogville resident.  I have chosen a number and the fan who leaves a comment in that spot will win the passes.  You are allowed to leave more than one comment if you wish.

Please let me know if you would like to book the band for a special occasion.

Please enjoy the Bad Dawn Agency performance and have a great time at the Queen of Hearts Dance!!
Thanks to Madi for hosting this great event and to all the other participants for their hard work.

Twix's Flashback Friday: Intruder Alert

Today's Flashback was originally posted on
February 23, 2010.

Intruder Alert!

So, there I was just sitting in my chair over the weekend.....

Did you see that?

SOUND THE ALARM!
We have an intruder!
Hey Mom! Hey Dad! Get over here!
(I was barking in this photo but it is hard to tell)

Look! Do you see those paw prints out there?

Yes, those paw prints.

Mom said they look like kitty paw prints.

A cat?
 In my yard?
That does not make me a Happy Camper!

I think I'll lay back down in my chair and plot my revenge!
No cat will make Twix look like a fool!

Yes, I love my kitty furiends BUT I don't like cats in my yard!

There's a Cougar in my House!

First of all, today is Manley Stanley's 2nd Birthday!
I hope you have the most wonderfulest birthday ever, Stanley!
Happy birthday to Murphy too!
Please stop by their blog and leave some birthday wishes.

Now, about that cougar....
There is a cougar that has gotten into my house!
I know, I can't believe it either!
Take a look at her:

Oh, sorry, not that kind of cougar......
This kind of cougar.....

Yes, I have decided to admit to you that I,
Taffy McTafferson, am a cougar.

You see, my boyfuriend turned 2 today and I will be 6 at the end of February (I'm almost a senior citizen)!

Be careful out there boys, you never know how a cougar might be disguised.
