I have missed you!

Just a quick note to tell you that their was a strange man here today that I barked at. He was here for quite a while and I left him alone so he could work. After he left Mom said we could look at our blog! Yay! I'm back! I have missed visiting you guys.
We have plans tonight so I won't be able to post until tomorrow but I can't wait to show you the gift we got Daddy.
Have a fun and safe New Year's Eve!

A Short Post

I've gotten a couple of emails from some of my furiends wondering if I am okay. I really appreciate your care and concern and yes, I am okay. I have been getting better slowly. We haven't been able to get online much at all because of our internet connection and with the Holidays, we haven't been able to get someone out to fix it. It takes about 20 min just to check our email! So, I apologize I have been keeping you in suspense and I haven't been to visit but Mom says it takes toooo long and she has other things to do. Hopefully, we will be able to get someone out here next week....Mom is off work Thursday and hopes they can come then.
I hope all of my furiends had a Twixerrific Christmas and I can't wait to catch up with you all. I really want to show you the gift we got Daddy but we can't load photos so you will just have to wait, sorry. I hope to chat with you soon and see what exciting things Santa Paws brought you!

On the Mend

Guess what we did yesterday?
We went to the V.E.T. again!
That is 3 times in a week...what is this world coming to?
I've told you this before but my pawrents are pawranoid! It was apparent that I was in pain when they took me to the V.E.T. on Thursday but I wasn't quite sick enough to tell exactly what was going on. I was refusing food, any and all food that was offered to me! Those of you who have known me for a while know that means something is seriously wrong! Mom tried giving me canned food, cheese, peanut butter, treats (even my favorite ones from Bijou), she even scrambled an egg....I wouldn't take any of it. I just turned my nose away. But then she whipped out the ultimate temptation, chicken jerky. I still wasn't interested in eating it but I took it from her and carried it in my mouth.
After I sat with it for a few minutes, I asked Mom to put me on the couch and then I went back to sleep. It is still laying on my blankie on the floor.
Friday night I started having runny poops....all night long. Momma and Daddy had to help me on and off the bed several times. Good thing we have some puppy pads around here for things like this. It was way too cold out to go outside in the middle of the night while being sick.
So, we went back to see the doctor Saturday morning. Not only had I not been eating but I hadn't been drinking either. They took my blood (Did you know they had vampires there?), gave me some fluids under my skin, gave me a shot to help my tummy, and put me on 2 more medicines. Apparently I have some bacterial overgrowth in my tummy which gives me some sort of infection.
I still refused to eat anything last night and then Mom got an idea. She doesn't get those often either. She thought since I showed some interest in the chicken jerky she would boil some chicken breasts for me. ;o) She gave me a few bites of it and I must admit that was pretty tasty. I think she hid some of my pills in it but that is better than Daddy holding me and Momma shoving those things down my throat.
I only had runny poops one time last night and I ate some more chicken this morning. I only eat a few bites of it and then I am done but at least I am eating, right? Remember I said earlier that I wasn't drinking anything? Well, Mom kept the water she boiled the chicken in and, let me tell you, that tastes so much better than regular water!
So, I am not well yet but I am starting to feel better.
We are still having trouble with our internet connection; we couldn't get online at all yesterday. We live in a townhouse and the way Mom understands it (scary) is that they split the cable line over and over. So, if a lot of others are using the web in our neighborhood it is hard for us to get things to load. That explains why we are always behind on your blogs....it takes forever for pages to load. Anyone out there have any ideas how to remedy this? It has gotten significantly worse lately.

Not Feeling Good

I haven't been feeling too good the past couple of days.
Because of that I went to the V.E.T. again today.
That is twice in one week :o(
They aren't sure if my back is bothering me or if I am having tummy trouble again. But they are sure I am having pain by the way I am acting.
I just don't really care too much about anything right now.
I won't go up or down the steps out front, get on the couch or get in Mom or Dad's lap.
So, Dr. Abby gave me shot with some pain medication in it before we left and then sent home some pain pills and an antibiotic in case I am getting that same tummy infection I had before.
I didn't even go in the kitchen when Mom was fixing dinner and I am always under her feet in the kitchen. Momma says you can tell by the look in my eyes when I don't feel good.
What do you guys think?
A couple of my furiends have asked about my Grandma, thanks! She is doing good right now but is very tired most of the time. She hasn't started her treatments yet so hopefully we will be able to wait until after Christmas so she won't be sick then.
Thanks again to everyone for your care, concern, and prayers.

Just Another Manic Monday......

.....Wish it were Sunday, that's my funday!
Oh! Sorry, just wishing it were Sunday still cause Mom and Dad left me today and went to work :o(
We've got a lot to cover today so I better get down to business.
Now, where should I start?
I guess I'll start with the fun part, the winners of my giveaway.
That's what everypup and everycat wants to know, right?

Mom told me I had to draw a winner from the "cat group" and this is what I said:
No offense to my kitty furiends out there.

Okay, okay, I'll pick one....

Look! Its my friend Sharon Wagner at Sharon's Paws Create.
Sharon is an artist and I love seeing her work.
Go over and check out her blog when you have time.

I don't really feel like choosing another name.

Oh! Its a dog name, alright then.
I'll pick this one.

Its my pals Stormy, Ammy, Zim, and Dave aka The Army of Four.
I think most of you know them but if you don't please stop by. They've always got something going on over there.
With some of the craziness that goes on over at their house it sounds like their Mom could use this book.
Sharon and AO4, will you please email me your addresses so I can get your books in the mail? I would love to know what you think once you get the books and have time to look through them.

All that work wore me out. I think I will just flop down right here.

Saturday morning Mom told me to get dressed we were going for a ride. Well, as you know, it is freezing here so I grabbed my pink coat with the fur collar (don't worry, it is fake fur).

Look where we went!
I think Mom tricked me!

This is what I think of this place!

We only got one photo during my visit (aren't you guys lucky?) because Mom was flapping her lips with a bunch of questions for Dr. Abby.
I get nervous while we are waiting our turn and Daddy was trying to comfort me.

Mom thinks I've lost more hair (why is she so wrapped up in how much hair I have or don't have?) I have been getting some of those sebaceous cysts too. So they chatted about that while I had my teeth looked at. They showed Mom and Dad that because of my gum disease I have some pockets that they have to be sure and clean out when they brush my teeth.
Also, I realized I never showed you a photo of my pearly whites.
You can see where those pockets are in that photo and they got some icky black stuff outta there.

This gingerbread house that was made by someone at Mom's work. I thought it was nice and wanted to show it to you....It is almost time for Santa Paws to visit us!

Whew! I told ya we had a lot of things to do tonight!
Before I go take a well deserved nap, I would like it if you went over to see my furiend Cloud.
He has been feeling kinda lonely because his mom has been very busy getting things ready for Christmas. Please stop by and say "Hello".

Trouble

Just wanted to do a quick post and let you know we are having trouble with our internet connection. It has been very intermittent lately and is getting worse. So, we are having trouble accessing all your blogs. Mom called the cable company tonight and was on hold for years, or so it seemed. Then, before she could ever talk to anyone, she was disconnected. I'm not sure what some of those things she said meant but I am pretty sure she was a little irritated, ticked, p.o.'d, etc. I have a feeling TWC will need some ear plugs tomorrow when she tries to call again, if you know what I mean.
We have been trying for a couple hours to get several pages to load with no luck. I'm not sure what happened so that we could get this post up quickly but I'm glad it did so you know I'm still alive. I'lll be back soon if Mom doesn't throw the computer through the window......

This and That

Since several of you have asked about my Grandma I thought I would give you an update. Here is a comment she left on last week's Flower Friday meant for all my great furiends to see:
Twix,
Thank you,for sharing about my surgery & recovery, I'm doing better but now I have to have chemo. Please continue to pray for me & Twix will keep you informed on how I am doing. I Love all of you & thanks for all your prayers.
Twix's Grandma
We are very grateful for you guys and the support you have provided us. As you can see, Grandma will have to have chemotherapy and we are hoping she can wait until after Christmas to start. Her pathology report showed that her returning ovarian cancer was starting to invade other areas. The good news is that this was just starting to happen so we caught it early. She will be in chemo treatment for about 6 months. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
~~~~~~~~
I have found a new sleeping position and Mom and Dad think it is a bit odd. Let's see what you guys think....
Keep in mind that I was completely under the covers and sound asleep before Mom started taking my pictures.
Mom didn't take a photo of that but said you can certainly tell when I'm sleeping like this.
I don't see anything odd here, do you?
Can't a girl sleep anyway she wants without the stupid puperatzi waking her up? Sheesh!
Note from Mom: Twix has started sleeping in this (strange) position recently. I have a hard time imagining she is relaxed like that but she must be comfy because she out!
~~~~~~~~
I get excited over silly things and have been told I am easily amused but did you notice I have 100 followers? I'm very excited about that!
~~~~~~~~
Whats happening outside right now....
Whats happening inside right now....
Are you crazy?
You have lost your freakin' mind if you think I'm going out in that!
Yes, I know it isn't a lot of snow and several of you like it but....
you try having legs a couple inches long and tinkling in that stuff. You might just change your mind!
I hope those of you that love snow enjoy the photos....now come get this nasty stuff!
Thats all of today's This and That. I hope you enjoyed it!
Twix's First Giveaway...Just in time for Christmas!
I received an unexpected package in the mail not too long ago. Inside I found a letter to me and two books. Strange, I thought, until I read the letter. It was from some furiends of mine and yours, Dog and Cat. What I read in that letter shocked me!
Dear Twix,
We need some assistance and we did not know where else to turn, so we are writing to you. You see, together we have lived with a human companion for the past 5 years. At first, it was an exciting time. A new house, we were each given our own bed in which to sleep, new toys were brought home on a regular basis, life was good. In fact, when our relationship with our human was in the early stages, he even brought different food home for us to try. Every day was a new experience. We couldn't have been happier.
Then things started to take a turn for the worse. First, the food stopped changing. The same thing, day after day, no new and exciting meals. The new toys stopped coming. In fact, Dog has been gnawing on the same bone for the last two years. He is so ashamed; he hides the bone when guests come over. Cat has been wearing the same bell for a year and a half, and the tingly thing no longer tingles. It no longer is a purrfect existence. We thought maybe our owner had found another pet, but we realized he had simply become uninterested in us.
The other day we were surfing the web (we were bored), and we came upon these two great new books. Cat Lover's Daily Companion and Dog Lover's Daily Companion. They seem purrfect! They seem to be just what our owner needs to start to enjoy us again.
Can you believe that? Their parents, humans, Mom and Dad, two-leggers, bipeds, etc. have become bored with them? How can we let something like that happen in our world? Below is a photo of the books and a description provided by the publisher. You can click on the book to go to the publisher's website for more information.
In Dog Lovers Daily Companion, Pet Lifestyle Advisor™ Wendy Nan Rees shares her invaluable knowledge gleaned from 25+ years in the pet industry. She has created a unique, irreplaceable, easy-to-use--and inspiring--handbook filled with 365 helpful tips, easy-to-build projects, practical advice, and insight into the canine-human relationship for all dog owners to use every day of the year. This book will provide you with a lifetime's worth of practical tips for living with your dog, no matter the breed. Wendy brings her expertise--and genuine love for dogs--to every topic under the sun needed to raise a healthy puppy into a happy adult dog.
Cat Lover's Daily Companion is a unique, easy-to-use, and inspiring handbook filled with a years worth of insight, helpful tips, and practical advice into the feline-human relationship for all cat lovers and owners. Whether you're a cat owner yourself or someone who just loves all things cat, this book will provide you with a lifetime's worth of ways to enjoy and appreciate cats, whether or not you have a house full of cats, or just a shelf full of books. The format of the book—a year-long, day-minder-type book—is not meant to be read cover to cover; rather, the book can fall open on any given day and still serve its designated purpose. Cat Lover's Daily Companion will be completely indexed so readers in search of specific content, not just dabbling, will be able to navigate it.
If you feel like your humans have become bored with you and are not paying you the attention they once were you should certainly put your name in for this giveaway. How surprised would your parents be to get a book from you for Christmas? Much less one that they can actually learn from? And if you look really closely at the dog book, that is a doxie on the front! You can't get a more perfect book! ;o)
I had my Mom review the books and she feels like they have loads of great information for pet lovers, even if they are not uninterested in their cat/dog. Since my parents have had a chance to review the books I thought it would be nice if we shared them with you guys. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. I will put everyone's name in a dog bowl and randomly pull out the winners (one for each book). Feel free to tell your furiends about my giveaway. Names will be accepted until midnight on December 12th. That way Mom has time to package up the books and get them in the mail for you in time for Christmas.
Flower Friday
I haven't done FF in a few weeks, sorry. Mom was having trouble getting photos to load last night so she had to do this one from work. It is not a great flower picutre but she doesn't have all her photos on her computer at work. I hope you enjoy it anyway!
Have a wonderful wienerful weekend, everyone!
????-Updated
Can anyone explain to my mom how to center a photo when you add it like we did with my Santa hat image or when added to the sidebar? She isn't too smart when it comes to editing HTML....
Thanks!
Update:
I guess I should be more clear on what I am trying to do. I have added the image above as a gadget on the layout page. There is a gadget that says add a picture to your blog--it is the 6th one on the list--I click on that and then select image from your computer. I select the photo I want to display and then click save. I can't figure out how to center those photos and it drives me crazy!
Any ideas?
